I'm a commander of a small squad,
That I founded when I moved to a new city not long ago.
We move around from team to team,
Game to game,
But our membership stays fairly constant.

There are 4 of us.

I'm the commander/marksman (sniper if you prefer the term).
I have a female Medium Rifleman,
A heavy gunner,
And a light rifleman.

A dagger.

We're close
And effective.

The last time we went out to play,
A group of walk-ons refused to play us,
Because they were scared.

I spend a lot of time working with my team individually,
We build on each other's strengths.

And today I had a 2-hour string of one-on-one matches with my dagger.

Feedback is excellent,
We talked for a while about how we could improve our games.

And now,
I'd like your feedback.

Anything at all.

If you could have an open conversation with your commander,
What would you tell him?
How could he help you improve your game?
How could he use your skills better?

Important or not,
I'd like to know what you all have in mind.

Have them go through an obsticle corse with targets and they should be required to hit all if not most of the targets and you should time them to set a goal for them.

The paintball field I play at has a target range with a bunch of old masks set up at various heights. They are at a range of about 15 to 40 feet. I discovered that if I took my time to aim (I use a sight) I could hit a mask with one shot 95% of the time. This means that it is technically possible for a dagger to eliminate any opponent within 40 feet in seconds. Of course a dagger needs to be fast so I started doing a drill to develop fast as well as accurate target acquisition.

Start by firing one shot every three seconds at a mask or similar-sized target. As soon as a hit is scored, switch targets. Continue this until the first shot is hitting consistently.

The next step is to shoot one shot at each mask while taking about two seconds to aim. Swith targets even if the shot misses. Eventually, it should become easy to hit with 90% accuracy. Keep decreasing the amount of time allowed for aiming as skill improves.

A modification of this drill which I have not yet done would be to use a timer. Try hitting ten different targets with ten shots in twenty seconds, then fifteen seconds, ten seconds, and so on.

This drill is meant to bring improvement in two areas: rapid target acquisition and first shot eliminations.

in all seriousness, i would have me get the team to spread out in unknown places (this is woods ball right) and have your dagger try to take a squad up the map, with him bating shots without being hit, and getting his team to the destination, with the amount of troops required and in a certain time limit (your going to need more people, but you could just have people who are ambushing fall back to next ambush when they are hit)

another tactic is for the flanking maneuver, but thats best practised in a game, your opponents are likely to be more alert

although the best tactic so far is to get this fool running from point a to point b, under fire, shooting out as many as he/she can on the way, and arriving there intact

If you guys work well as a team already, work on individual skills. a good way(the best way IMO) to practice these skills is to play speedball.

skills you should work on:
snapshooting
switching hands
running n gunning
posting
laning (though it may be kind of useless for woodsball, depends on how thick the woods are)
crawling (also keeping low while walking)

if you haven't watched tyger's videos than you should definately check them out.

one last thing, if you want your dagger to be really accurate, have him shoot at a soda bottle starting at ten feet and then taking a step back and shooting again. continue this until you'v reached about 60 feet. you can even try this while crouching, laying (unlikely for a dagger, but you never know) or whatever position you think he may end up in. BTW, i learned this drill from some pump players (i thought i would give them some credit).

^^ The above is great advice. Especially like the target practice drill. Don't be afreaid of drills, they can be dull but they pay off big time when it comes to game time.

One of my biggest weaknesses as a dagger is snap shooting. It's something I've been working on and it is a MUST for a great dagger. As much as I was initially loath to admit it Speedball players are actually very good snap shots and if you know some you might ask them for suggestions regarding how to practice this technique.

Good luck.
